Constance S. Owens is a self taught designer who graduated from Auburn University Montgomery in Montgomery, Alabama, with an Interior Design Certificate. She opened Camille & Company, a home interiors consulting and design business offering a variety of services. As sole proprietor of Camille & Company, she has been involved in several projects to recently include a whole house renovation of a cottage home.
Owens interned with Phillip Sides Interior Design, an award-winning design firm owned by Phillip Sides, one of the Southeast’s notable designers frequently featured in Southern Accents, Coastal Living, and Southern Living Magazines. While working with PSID, she took advantage of Phillip Sides expert knowledge in the use of color and fabrics. She also assisted with the installation of two rooms in the Montgomery Junior Service League Show House during her internship.
Owens has also assisted Interior Designer Cris Taylor of Plantation Interiors, Hilton Head, South Carolina with accessorizing and installation of design projects at Palmetto Bluff, a Private Residence Resort, and Daufuskie Island, an exclusive residence community and resort located in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.
In order to gain knowledge about fabrics and their use in fabrication of window treatments, bedding, and custom upholstery, Owens worked with Rich-Tex Fabrics in Montgomery, Alabama, assisting customers and interior designers in selection of decorator fabrics and trims.
Owens received her education at Valdosta State University, Valdosta, Georgia, in English with an emphasis in Creative Writing. She also attended the University of Maryland University College in Aviano, Italy studying writing. She completed field Study classes in art and literature with Universita Ca’ Foscari di Venezia in Venice, Italy. In addition, she attended the Millenium School of Language, Roveredo in Piano, Italy, to study Italian. In association with a career in finance, she attended Citizens & Southern National Bank Lending School and the American Bankers Association Consumer Lending School in Atlanta, Georgia. Owens has traveled throughout Europe spending a great deal of time in Paris, France, and Italy. She currently resides in the Middle East in the capital city of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
Constance also owns and operators a wholesale/retail jewelry company. Vetro Veneziano imports Venetian glass jewelry from the island of Murano in Venice, Italy. http://www.vetroven.com
Constance also enjoys photography and publishes work at connieowens.smugmug.com and constanceowens.imagekind.com. Her travels have enabled her to build a working portfolio from which she can pull to enhance the interior design of any home.
